City Camping Hjørring started in 1969, but actually started out as an open-air swimming pool exclusively for the city's citizens, who gathered around the open-air swimming pool when the weather was suitable.
The area quickly became a popular gathering place and people came into the city from outside and pitched tents in the area. It was quickly discovered that the city needed a place for the guests who came from outside with tents, and the first version of the campsite was created.
The site has developed in different directions along the way, and for many years has been operated exclusively as a campsite, where you did not have access to the outdoor pool as before. It has been both municipal and partly private, but is now municipal again but is run by Tannisby Camping.
The pool is operated as an outdoor pool and is open during the high season from June 15th to August 15th.
The outdoor pool is open to everyone – guests and campers.
